Yesterday, more information came out about the arrest of Terrapin men’s basketball freshman Jordan Williams, who turned himself in Saturday to police in his hometown of Torrington, Conn.
Williams was charged with misdemeanor assault and breach of peace stemming from an Aug. 8 incident.
According to a press release from Torrington Police, police received a report of an assault that had taken place at a park at approximately 11:35 p.m. Some of those involved later went to the Torrington Police station to file a report themselves.
The subsequent investigation involved Williams and four other people who were involved in an altercation.
Williams’ attorney, Bill Stevens, told The Washington Post yesterday night that his client wasn’t involved in a “street brawl.” Stevens claimed Williams attempted to break up the fight.
Williams — a forward who could see significant playing time for the Terps this season — is due in court Monday in Bantam, Conn.
