The man who hit and killed Cory Hubbard, in black shirt third from left, in a hit and run plead guilty Nov. 20
The man accused of a hit-and-run that killed university student Cory Hubbard this past January plead guilty on Nov. 20, according to a Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Office news release.
Thirty-year-old Liam Adepo, of Cheverly, plead guilty to failure to remain at the scene of a collision involving death.
He was also charged with several other violations, including driving with a suspended license and driving while impaired by alcohol, but those were dropped as part of the plea agreement.
A Jan. 17 video surveillance video showed Adepo having difficulty walking as he was leaving Looney’s Pub, and then a dark Toyota sedan leaving the parking lot, according to the release.
At about 1:30 a.m., Hubbard, 22, was attempting to cross Route 1 when he was struck by a dark-colored Toyota, whose the driver fled the scene. The next day, Apedo told a family member about the incident and the family member called the police, who arrested Adepo after he admitted to driving the car, according to the release.
Adepo faces up to two years in prison and will be sentenced Jan. 30.
