University of Maryland Police are working to apprehend three persons of interest in connection to an August 6 armed robbery, according to a press release.

University Police responded to the area of Regents Drive by the Campus Farm at 2:12 a.m. on August 6 for a report of an armed robbery, according to the release. Two male victims, who are not affiliated with this university, reported that they were walking north on Regents Drive when three men on bicycles approached them. The suspects brandished a handgun and then stole some of the victims’ belongings, according to the release.

Two individuals were arrested on the night of the incident, but they had been mistakenly identified by the victims, University Police spokeswoman Sgt. Rosanne Hoaas said. They were released from custody later that day when detectives determined they were not involved in the robbery.

University Police were able to provide photos of the three persons of interest, pictured below. Anyone with information regarding their identity is urged to contact police at 301-405-3555 or email at investigations@umpd.umd.edu.
