Montgomery County Police are investigating an act of vandalism that took place at a Silver Spring church over the weekend, according to a report by WUSA9.
Members of the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour discovered that a sign outside the church had been vandalized on Sunday in black marker with the words, “Trump Nation. Whites Only,” according to the report.
The sign, which advertised the Spanish-language Mass, was also torn in several places.
Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington wrote on Facebook that she is “heartsick” as a result of the incident.
Budde added that she “can only imagine how the people of Our Savior, one of the most culturally diverse parishes in the diocese, feel.”
Police have not yet made an arrest in the case, according to the report.
