Something has been going around the campus — maybe it’s just cold season, maybe it’s more. But don’t be alarmed, the newest Marvel superhero can save the day!
Gone are the unsympathetic days where no one cared about your common cold. Captain Citrus is here to provide just the right reinforcement to keep you feeling 110 percent. And by reinforcement, I mean that Captain Citrus will tell you everything you learned from the food pyramid back in elementary school.
This superhero is a new $1 million comic initiative from a partnership between Marvel and the Florida Department of Citrus. His point is simple: Vitamin C is key.
Emphasizing the importance of Vitamin C, this orange hero will not stop until everyone has the right information to defend themselves from pesky bacteria. He’s saving the day with one orange at a time.
It looks like Marvel’s other heroes haven’t been a big enough force. So stand back, Thor, and throw down your shield, Captain America, because you cannot handle this crisis alone.
As orange juice sales plummet, Captain Citrus will be there to pick them up. If he isn’t going to protect America’s prized peninsula’s dire source of revenue, then who will?
Of course, on the surface, Captain Citrus is taking a stand for immune systems all over, providing Vitamin C for all. In his first digital comic, Captain Citrus vaguely saves the day using his solar pods. This comic has classic Marvel aesthetics until halfway through, when it is interrupted by a Florida Orange advertisement.
So advertisement or hero, it’s up to you. But as the weather becomes colder and the kid sitting behind you in class starts coughing down the back of your neck, it may be nice to have this immune-boosting hero lurking in the darkness.
