Defensivel line coach Greg Gattuso makes a base salary of $150,000.

The contract details of 11 Terrapins football assistants were released yesterday, detailing three-year deals for most members of Randy Edsall’s coaching staff.

The release of the information, which did not disclose the specifics of offensive coordinator Gary Crowton’s contract, follows the end of a 2-10 season in Edsall’s inaugural year as Terps coach. Athletic Director Kevin Anderson last week told The Baltimore Sun he would not rule out changes to Edsall’s coaching staff.

“Coach Edsall and Kevin Anderson are in the process of evaluating all aspects of the football season and will together develop a plan to move ahead toward next year,” an athletics department spokesman said in a statement to The Diamondback yesterday.

Among the coaches whose contract information was released was defensive coordinator Todd Bradford. Bradford’s contract, according to reports, calls for him to make a base salary of $262,500 with bonuses that bring his annual compensation to at least $350,000. Bradford, who was not made available to the media this season, also is set to make bonuses for TV and radio appearances.

Bradford’s defense struggled all year, finishing the season ranked 103rd nationally in points allowed. Southern Miss, where he coached before agreeing to join Edsall’s staff in January, won 11 games and the Conference USA title this season.

All coaching contracts have a clause stating that “termination shall occur in the event and on the day that Randy Edsall’s service as the Head Coach of the Team shall end.”

Edsall is in the first year of a six-year deal worth $12 million. Though the athletics department has left open the possibility of an altered staff, officials have offered a vote of confidence for Edsall.

“Coach Edsall is in his first year,” a team official said last week. “He is committed, as the athletic department is, to build a program that we can all be proud of in the classroom, on the field and in the community.”

The athletics department’s financial situation could factor into potential staff changes. Eight sports are on the verge of being cut as the department finds itself in a debt nearing $83 million.

Base salaries were also released for offensive line coach Tom Brattan ($168,750), inside linebacker coach Keith Dudzinski ($150,000), defensive line coach Greg Gattuso ($150,000), special teams/outside linebackers coach Lyndon Johnson ($150,000), running backs coach Andre Powell ($142,000), strength and conditioning coach Andrew Wilson ($140,000), wide receivers coach Lee Hull ($131,250) tight ends coach/recruiting coordinator John Dunn ($112,500), director of operations Fran Foley ($110,000), and assistant strength and conditioning coach Alan Weber ($75,000).

Several coaches have annual guaranteed bonuses for TV/radio appearances, personal appearances, fundraising and endorsements.
