The Terp men’s basketball team was knocked out in the first round of the ACC tournament this afternoon, falling 82-72 at MCI Center.

The loss likely knocks the program out of the NCAA tournament for the first time in 11 years. The field will be determined Sunday night.

Point guard John Gilchrist, whose heroic performance last year led the team to their first ACC championship in 20 years, was injured and did not play much of the second half.

Clemson, the ninth seed in the tournament,  picked up their third win of the season against the Terps.  Check www.diamondbackonline.com for updates throughout the evening and tomorrow.
