University Police arrested and charged two men in connection with a burglary that occurred on Fraternity Row last week, according to a UMD alert.
Police charged Luke Charla and Nicholas Stehman — from Larchmont, New York, and Forest Hill, Maryland, respectively — with fourth degree burglary, conspiracy to commit fourth degree burglary and malicious destruction of property worth less than $1,000.
On Jan. 18, a resident at 1 Fraternity Row — the chapter house of the Kappa Alpha fraternity — reported they saw a bearded white man trying to break in through a bathroom window. After the resident yelled, the man fled, and he and another individual got into a car and headed toward Campus Drive, according to police.
Police tracked down the red PT Cruiser the resident saw the men get into, and the two men were arrested.
Both Charla and Stehman are listed in the University of Maryland’s directory. Stehman is a student at this university, according to the directory.
