Guard Dez Wells fights to control the ball during the Terps’ 75-69 upset of No. 5 Virginia on March 9, 2014 in the final ACC game at Comcast Center.
In its first Big Ten/ACC Challenge as a member of the Big Ten, the Terrapins men’s basketball team will host Virginia on Dec. 3, the team announced Thursday afternoon.
The Terps have played the Cavaliers 181 times — more than they’ve faced any other program — and hold a 107-74 record against their border-state rivals. Virginia earned a home win against the Terps in February, but the Terps topped then-No. 5 Cavaliers, 75-69, in overtime of the regular-season finale in March.
As a member of the ACC, the Terps have gone on the road in each of the last two Big Ten/ACC Challenges. They won in a blowout at Northwest in 2012 and got crushed at then-No. 5 Ohio State.
