A man was assaulted early Friday morning during a fight on Knox Road, and county police are investigating the incident.

The victim sustained a head injury and made contact with Prince George’s County Police at 1:25 a.m. He said he had been in a fight inside 4401 Knox Road. No age for the victim was given, and no information about the suspect was provided in the crime alert.

This was the third crime alert of the semester from Prince George’s County Police. The previous two incidents were robberies on Route 1.

Attempts to reach county police for comment were unsuccessful. University Police couldn’t comment on the incident beyond the crime alert, spokesman Paul Dillon said.

Although the crime alert said the address was 4401 Knox Road, no such address exists. The address of Santa Fe Cafe is 4410. Santa Fe owner Mark Srour said there were no fights inside his club on Friday, but admitted “a fight could have happened outside.”

He added that his staff has no control over what happens outside the club, only inside.
