The Diamondback exists, according to Liz Lemon. All’s right with the world.

For regular purveyors of The Diamondback’s 30 Rock reviews, this week Liz Lemon’s baby-obtaining journey led her to decide to adopt an older child, Jack’s propensity to always mail birthday cards afforded him a potential slot as Kabletown’s new CEO and Tracy’s Harriet Tubman movie stumbled to a rocky start.

But for everyone else, the episode climaxed within the first two minutes, to the delight of Diamondback readers everywhere.

At the show’s onset, Liz Lemon, an alumna of this university, referenced her biggest acting role in College Park – and, undoubtedly, the best-written review of that effort.

“I once played Frederick Douglass in a one-woman show that the University of Maryland Diamondback called ‘too confusing to be offensive,’” Liz told Tracy.

As of publication, The Diamondback’s Diversions section is withholding an apology for the lenient review of her vaguely racist-sounding performance.

But we at The Diamondback would like to thank the absurd world of 30 Rock for remembering its characters’ back stories. That Liz Lemon went to this university has been an interesting and prideful factoid for students here since the show alluded to the Terps in its first season, and now a Diamondback shout-out solidifies the comedy as a staple of this university for years to come.

Pretty cool, right?
