Breaking news: grab your best burgundy suit, stick on mustache and head to the Newseum! There you can see Anchorman: The Exhibit before the story leaks. For anyone who was a fan of the original comedy starring the one and only Will Ferrell or its sequel released late last year, this display cannot be missed.

From the infamous burgundy business suit to Ron Burgundy’s mustache brush, the exhibit features over 60 props and costumes from the 2004 movie. It also features a life size replica of the movie’s TV studio where visitors can test their own anchoring chops. To put it simply, it’s kind of a big deal.

Entrance to the special exhibit, which the museum will display through the end of the summer, is included with regular admission to the Newseum. The Newseum itself is one of the city’s most underrated museums. Journalism majors will be particularly fascinated by the exciting blend of history and modern news, but anyone with an interest in world and current events will find plenty of subjects to take notes on.

Some key pieces always on rotation include a piece of the Berlin Wall on the lower level of the museum and a portion of the World Trade Center dislodged during the terrorist attacks of 2001, accompanied by the stories of citizens who perished during the bombings as well as reporters who covered the catastrophe.

Bring your student ID to the ticket office to get 10 percent back on your $22 ticket and don’t forget to mention Ron Burgundy when paying to get your free stick-on mustache. If you have a little extra cash to spare, stop in at The Source, the museum’s restaurant and bar for a bite to eat before or after your tour.

To get to the Newseum take the 104 Metro bus from the Stamp Student Union to the College Park Metro station and board a Green Line train toward Branch Avenue. The Archives/Navy Memorial station is only a few blocks away from the museum, The one-way trip should take about 25 minutes and cost $2.75 during off-peak hours. The museum is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. all days except for nationally recognized holidays.
