Prince George’s County Police are investigating a woman’s death at a College Park hotel as a murder, according to a department press release.
They have not yet identified the woman or a motive, the release said.
The woman was found dead in a second-story room at the Ramada Limited hotel in the 9100 block of Route 1 Tuesday.
Prince George’s County Police were called to the hotel around 1:15 p.m. for a welfare check, after hotel staff found the woman unresponsive, officers at the scene said. PGPD spokesman Harry Bond said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and had a gunshot wound.
PGPD spokeswoman Julie Parker said the woman was in her 30s and does not appear to be a university student.
Parker said investigators have not found evidence of a connection between the death and Tuesday morning’s armed robbery at Town Hall Liquors.
