ESPN Radio show host and SportsCenter anchor Scott Van Pelt will make a return to the College Park area Monday afternoon when he hosts his show “SVP & Russillo” from The Hamilton in Washington.
Van Pelt, along with co-host Ryen Russillo, will do his show as part of ESPN’s run-up to the Monday Night Football opener between the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles that night in Landover.
There’s a way for students to get involved, too. There will be a “student section” on the set, and current students can gain entry with student IDs.
Van Pelt, a university graduate, is a fixture at major Terrapins men’s basketball games and often provides a national voice for the Terps due to his status at ESPN.
I had the chance to catch up with Van Pelt earlier this week for an interview, so expect to see that on the site Monday. We talked about the difference between Ravens and Redskins fans, attendance at Terps sporting events and when he thinks his next appearance at a College Park sporting event will be. So keep an eye out for that.
The Hamilton is located at 600 14th Street N.W. in Washington. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and the show will be broadcast from 1-4 p.m.
