Police are investigating a burglary that took place off the campus early Saturday morning, according to a University of Maryland safety notice.
A burglary took place at about 1:20 a.m. on the 7500 block of Rhode Island Avenue. A female university student reported that she heard strange noises coming from within her residence and, upon investigating the sounds, saw a burglar in the common area. The suspect then fled the scene, according to the report.
An investigation of this incident is still underway. Police encourage anyone with information regarding this case to contact them at 301-352-1200.
