Officials temporarily evacuated the Physics Building this afternoon because of a gas leak, a fire department spokesman said.

The building reopened just before 3 p.m.

Alan Doubleday, assistant fire chief of Prince George’s County Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department, said the evacuation was in response to a minor natural gas leak. The building was evacuated at about 2:34 p.m., and it lasted until 2:50 p.m, he said.

“All units are cleared now,” Doubleday said.

No further information is available at this time, Doubleday said.
