As much as I loved seeing couples holding hands and walking through the Valentine’s Day aisle in CVS last week (Not!), Fur Nightclub is giving us Valentine-less Terps something to look forward to this week.

Not only will Saturday be awesome because of all the discounted Valentine’s Day candy, but Adventure Club will be performing at Fur.

Christian Srigley and Leighton James comprise the Canadian dubstep duo. The two create unique sounds by using Sonar Cakewalk, a less-common program in the music production world. I love their frequent use of vocals, which many dubstep artists use sparingly.

Similar to 90 percent of high school boys, Srigley and James thought they would succeed at forming a pop-punk band in high school. Similar to about 99 percent of those boys, they were also wrong. The two moved on to creating electronic sounds, but their pop-punk roots shine through in remixes of songs by Mike Posner, Alexisonfire and Britney b*tch!

Adventure Club is still a somewhat fresh group. Yes, they’ve performed huge shows like Life in Color (formerly Dayglow) and Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, but they’re still not as well known as many other dubstep artists.

However, I foresee the duo going straight to the top. After all, this certainly isn’t their first time at Fur.

Did I mention if you “like” their Facebook page you have access to dozens of free downloads? Tickets can be purchased here. As always, it is 18 to enter and 21 to drink when doors open at 9 p.m. There is no dress code.
