Gary Williams is set to take his competitive attitude to another sport. The Terrapin men’s basketball coach will play in a charity golf tournament that will air tonight at 10:30 as part of The Golf Channel’s The Big Break series.
Williams is participating in the show for a special season finale episode with legendary NCAA coaches including Connecticut’s Jim Calhoun, Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim and Houston’s Tom Penders. Between the group, there are four national titles and a number of other accolades.
The Big Break All-Star Challenge, hosted by Vince Cellini, is held at Addison Reserve Country Club in Delray Beach, Fla. The four contestants will not be playing traditional golf, but rather competing in a series of golf-related challenges such as a long drive competition and a glass breaking challenge. Each contestant will receive equivalent cash awards, which will then be donated to the Bone Marrow Foundation.
