In less than 24 hours, Maryland football secured three pledges for its 2019 recruiting class.

Three-star offensive lineman Marcus Finger rounded out the additions, which included three-star tight end Tyler Devera and punter/kicker Anthony Pecorella.

Finger attends Fort Myers High School in Florida and is rated the No. 230 lineman in the state, according to 247Sports. He decommitted from Central Florida and pledged to Maryland on Monday afternoon. The decision comes days after the Wisconsin native took an official visit to College Park and picked up a scholarship offer from coach Mike Locksley.

The lineman initially committed to the Knights over seven months ago but kept his recruitment open throughout the process. He becomes the second offensive lineman to commit in the Terps’ 2019 class joining three-star Good Counsel product Mason Lunsford. Depth on the offensive line will be crucial with seniors Derwin Gray, Brendan Moore, Sean Christie and Damian Prince graduating.

Devera hails out of Wayne, New Jersey and attends Bergen Catholic in Oradell. His commitment comes after he wrapped up his official visit to College Park beginning last Friday.

Devera is the No. 38 player in the state and No. 68 tight end in the country, according to 247Sports. As a senior, Devera was named to the 2018 All-USA New Jersey Football Team, averaging more than 13 yards per reception and hauling in five touchdowns, according to MaxPreps.

Previously a Rutgers commit, Devera also made official visits to Louisville, Colorado and Massachusetts before deciding on College Park. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder is the second tight end in Maryland’s 2019 class, joining three-star recruit Malik Jackson.

Maryland added depth to its special teams unit with the addition of Pecorella, who was an athlete on all sides of the ball at Chaminade High School in Mineola, New York. At 6-foot-2, 185-pounds, Pecorella served as the team’s backup quarterback while averaging over 44 yards per punt, according to MaxPreps.

With only one other punter listed on the roster, the addition of another was much needed as Maryland is replacing three-year starter Wade Lees, who recorded the ninth-most punts and punting yards in Maryland history.

Maryland’s 2019 class is up to 14 prospects and holds the No. 72 slot in the 247Sports team rankings. With National Signing Day just two days away, Maryland will look to continue its recruiting spree.
