Deven Davis is an ex-porn star and happens to be married to the lead singer of Korn, Johnathan Davis, which could possibly be the inspiration for Korn’s new album. Anyone who has listened to the band’s latest effort, See You on the Other Side, will notice one major change – the content of the band’s music. Korn’s lyrics have become extremely sexually fueled and have proudly earned them the little “Parental Advisory” label on the front of their new album.
After producing eight albums and losing lead guitarist Brian “Head” Welch, the band is still going strong, and its latest effort is proof. Other Side has already sold over 750,000 copies in its first four months on the charts. With this level of success and popularity comes Korn’s obligation to their fans. Korn kicked off a worldwide tour, from the United States to Tokyo in February with bands such as Mudvayne, Disturbed and Hatebreed.
They will be performing with Mudvayne at 1st Mariner Arena on March 25 – a perfect ending to spring break and a way to enjoy that last bit of freedom before returning to school and its constant migraines. Based on the new album’s abstract and sexually liberating lyrics, you can bet the concert will have quite a few visual elements to capture the imagination. And then there’s the music, of course.
Tickets start at $34.50 for the 8 p.m. show. For more information, call (410) 347-2010
