The semester is starting to wind down, and that means a lot of stress. But if you need a way to let loose and have some fun during your study break, you don’t need to look any further than your Xbox 360 and Lips: Party Classics

This iteration of Microsoft’s karaoke franchise adds 40 more songs to sing along to. The track list includes a variety of artists from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. The Village People, Whitesnake, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Spice Girls, the Black Eyed Peas and Amy Winehouse are only a few of the artists highlighted in Party Classics

Like the previous versions of Lips, the game can be played with the Xbox’s wireless, glowing and motion sensitive microphones.

For the first time, karaoke singers can also plug in a USB microphone and use that to sing, which is perfect for anyone who has a Guitar Hero or Rock Band microphone and wants to croon, rap or rock with their friends. Unfortunately, some features don’t work with the USB microphone, such as the Vocal Fighters or Time Bomb modes.

In addition, Party Classics adds more opportunities for players to earn achievements to increase their Xbox Live Gamerscore within the Lips series and the ability to unlock clothing for their Xbox Live avatars.

Players won’t be getting much new content besides the new songs. Essentially, Party Classics is an addition to the Lips library. It would have been nice to see some additions to the series, but a great playlist and in-game rewards makes it worthwhile.

Lips: Party Classics provides a good time that anyone with any level of video game experience can enjoy. It may stick to the old formula, but it brings one of the series’ best music libraries yet and is an easy way to enjoy yourself on the Xbox 360.
