The Maryland men’s lacrosse team moved up one spot to No. 9 in the country following a 15-7 victory over then-No. 14 North Carolina on Saturday.
The Terps dropped from No. 1 to No. 10 after back-to-back losses. They rose in the rankings for the first time since Feb. 27 after their win in Chapel Hill. Maryland registered 15 goals against the Tar Heels, its most in five weeks.
Midfielder Connor Kelly and attackman Matt Rambo each notched five points Saturday. Rambo became the fifth player in program history to reach 200 career points.
All six of the Terps’ remaining opponents are ranked. The latest national poll placed three other Big Ten programs in the top ten, including undefeated No. 2 Penn State, which Maryland will face on April 8.
