I’ve always had an issue with working while music plays. Classical or heavy metal, it’s all too complex for me to work and listen at the same time. This is fixed, however, with a nice, quiet space where I can zone out and plow through my assignments. Like many who have attempted to find such a haven at this university, however, I came up short. For whatever reason, UMD students don’t seem to understand that libraries are traditionally quiet.

It effectively drowns out everything around you, while not being interesting enough to listen to actively. Aside from the small drawback of the recording featuring a police siren in the distance at one point, the site is flawless, simple and effective: Every advocate of peaceful study can benefit from using it.
