On Oct. 20 The Terrapins volleyball team lost its sixth straight match. The squad seemed destined for a similar fate they experience the year before when they dropped 15 out of their last 16 contests.
But now, that feeling seems far in the past. The Terps 3-0 victory at Virginia (8-19, 2-14 ACC) Friday night marked the Terps’ (15-13, 6-10) fifth win in six contests since Oct. 20 and their third victory in a row.
Outside hitter Ashleigh Crutcher led the Terps with 14 kills as the team finished with an incredibly efficient .389 hitting percentage.
The Terps’ recent run has given them hope of qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. They’ll have a chance to strengthen their bid for a sport in the tournament Saturday when they travel to Virginia Tech.
