The Terrapins women’s soccer team finds itself in the same situation it did on Thursday night, trailing 1-0 at halftime.

On Thursday night, the Terps were unable to rebound against Virginia, eventually losing 4-1.

It remains to be seen if the same fate awaits them tonight, trailing Virginia Tech by one after 45 minutes of play.

The Hokies jumped on the board in the 29th minute when forward Jazmine Reeves netted a corner off the foot of midfielder Kelsey Loupee. Terps goalkeeper Yewende Balgoun came off the line on the corner and the ball got through to Reeves.

The Terps have taken five shots, but only two of them were on goal and both were saved by Tech’s Dayle Colpitts. The Terps have controlled possession well, but just haven’t been able to come through on the Virginia Tech defense, which is swarming and not allowing the Terps any uncontested chances.

If the Terps want to come back in the second half, they will need to amp up the offensive pressure on the Hokies and put more shots on goal.
