Michigan pitcher Megan Betsa no-hit the Terrapins softball team Sunday to complete a series sweep in a 1-0 win at the Maryland Softball Stadium on Senior Day.
Betsa went all seven innings and struck out 15 batters while walking two batters. Every hitter in the Terps’ lineup struck out at least once during the game.
Despite the loss, pitcher Kaitlyn Schmeiser turned in a solid outing in the circle. She struck out three in a complete game while limiting No. 4 Michigan (45-6, 18-2 Big Ten) to six hits and one unearned run.
The Wolverines score the game’s lone run in the fourth inning. Left fielder Kelly Christner led off with a double and advanced to third on an error by center fielder Kylie Datil. Right fielder Kelsey Susalla singled Christner home a batter later to provide Betsa with the only run support she needed.
The Terps (26-24, 8-12) will travel to Michigan State for their final Big Ten series of the regular season.
