Echostage, Washington’s newest Electronic Dance Music club, opens this Saturday.
After undergoing a second series of renovations this winter, Echostage is ready to host another string of talented artists this spring.
Alesso will be performing on April 19 as part of the venue’s second phase lineup. After seeing him live a few times, I can honestly say his stage presence and performance are unlike any other. I don’t make promises often, but I can promise you this is not a show you want to miss.
Not to mention he’s so stinkin’ cute. Tickets are $30 and doors open at 9 p.m.
Alessandro Lindblad, or Alesso, is another young EDM artist whose past few years have been a complete whirlwind, right down to the day he celebrated his 21st birthday at Governor’s Island in New York in July.
Although he’s only been in the forefront of the music scene for about three years, the Swedish DJ and producer is grouped in the same categories as Avicii, Kaskade, Swedish House Mafia, unlike other DJs his age.
He got his foot in the door with original tracks like “Nillionaire,” but he completely blew up the scene when he collaborated with Sebastian Ingrosso and Ryan Tedder. Their hit, “Calling,” is sure to induce some nostalgia as you listen to it, especially because it’s probably been played at every party you’ve ever been to for the past year and a half.
I’m totally a remix girl, so I’ll choose a remix over the original every single time. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again: I wish there was an Alesso remix to EVERYTHING.
Alesso’s remixes to “Pressure” and “Good Love” are among my favorites, but his remix of David Guetta’s “Titanium” takes the cake. I heard his version before I heard the original and I can honestly say I can’t even make it through half of Guetta’s. Not that the original isn’t good. Alesso is just great.
And sometimes, now and then, he throws something different out there.
Alesso keeps producing bigger and better hits, including “Years,” “City of Dreams,” and “Clash,” which all ranked #1 on Beatport.
And then there was that time he casually tweeted at me and I fell in love. Oh. Hi.
