Six starters on the Maryland women’s lacrosse team were unanimously selected for the All-Big Ten team, the conference announced Wednesday.

Midfielders Taylor Cummings and Zoe Stukenberg, defenders Alice Mercer and Nadine Hadnagy, attacker Megan Whittle and goalie Megan Taylor were six of the nine unanimous selections.

Maryland and Penn State tied for the most players from a single team.

Cummings, who helped the No. 1 Terps end the season undefeated, recorded 60 points, 51 ground balls and 113 draw controls. Her 45 goals are second on the team behind Whittle, who has scored 56 goals for the nation’s second-best scoring offense.

Stukenberg has tallied 48 points (35 goals and 13 assists), which ranks third on the team. She has also won 29 draw controls and forced 11 turnovers.

Mercer and Hadnagy lead the sixth-best defensive unit in the country, which allowed just more than six goals per game. Mercer has caused 17 turnovers and scooped up 26 ground balls.

Hadnagy, meanwhile has forced 16 turnovers and picked up 32 ground balls.

The Terps held a competition for the starting goalie job earlier this season, and Taylor quickly emerged as the starter. She leads the Big Ten with a 6.25 goals-against average and a .474 save percentage.

In coach Cathy Reese’s 10 seasons in College Park, Maryland has compiled 54 all-conference honorees.
