Brett Cecil, LHP, Toronto Blue Jays

2016 stats: 1-6 W-L, 4.94 ERA, 25 strikeouts, 6 walks, 29 hits, 23.2 innings pitched

Skinny: Cecil continues to show a return to form after struggling mightily to begin the season. He threw 1.2 innings across two games this week and allowed just one baserunner while picking up two strikeouts.

Justin Maxwell, OF, Lotte Giants (Korean Baseball Organization)

2016 stats: .284 average, .411 on-base percentage, 4 HR, 16 RBI, 25 strikeouts, 13 walks

Skinny: After a hot start to his Korean career, Maxwell has been hitless in his last four games. He was 3-for-5 with a stolen base and a run on Aug. 10 but has not recorded a hit in his 11 at-bats since.

Adam Kolarek, LHP, Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay Rays Triple-A affiliate)

2016 stats (AAA): 0-1, 2.41 ERA, 37 K, 20 BB, 17 H, 33.2 IP

Skinny: Kolarek came in for the final two outs of the Bulls’ 10-2 win against Charlotte Saturday, walking the first batter he faced before picking up consecutive strikeouts to end the game.

LaMonte Wade, OF, Fort Myers Miracle (Minnesota Twins High-A affiliate)

2016 stats (High-A): .318 AVG, .386 OBP, 4 HR, 24 RBI, 17 K, 10 BB

Skinny: Wade has not played since Aug. 7 was placed on the 7-day disabled list Aug. 9 due to a bruised left hand.

Jose Cuas, 3B, Brevard County Manatees (Milwaukee Brewers High-A affiliate)

2016 stats: .178 AVG, .272 OBP, 4 HR, 23 RBI, 116 K, 38 BB

Skinny: Cuas hasn’t found his hitting stroke this year and is 3-for024 in his last six games. He hit a double and had two walks on Aug. 10 against Lakeland.

Jake Stinnett, RHP, Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Chicago Cubs High-A affiliate)

2016 stats: 8-4, 4.46 ERA, 91 K, 39 BB, 109 H, 109 IP

Skinny: Stinnett gave up four runs over six innings in his start this week. He had six strikeouts and walked just one batter, after walking four and five batters in his previous two outings. Stinnett’s performance earned him his eighth win of the season.

Brandon Lowe, 2B, Bowling Green Hot Rods (Tampa Bay Rays Single-A affiliate)

2016 stats: .259 AVG, .359 OBP, 4 HR, 35 RBI, 62 K, 45 BB

Skinny: Lowe played four games this week and picked up a hit in three of them, including a double Aug. 12. He went 3-for-16 overall on the week.

Zach Morris, LHP, Lakewood BlueClaws (Philadelphia Phillies Single-A affiliate)

2016 stats: 7-2, 2.52 ERA, 48 K, 21 BB, 59 H, 60.2 IP

Skinny: Morris gave up two hits over two scoreless innings Aug. 10 against Delmarva, walking one batter and striking out two. He then allowed two runs over three innings Aug. 14.

Mike Shawaryn, RHP, Lowell Spinners (Boston Red Sox Single-A Short Season affiliate)

2016 stats: 0-1, 9.00 ERA, 8 K, 2 BB, 8 H, 4 IP

Skinny: After a successful first professional outing last week, Shawaryn ran into problems in his second start. He gave up five runs (four earned) on seven hits over two innings, picking up the loss. He struck out four batters, though, matching his total from his first game.

Rob Galligan, LHP, AZL Diamondbacks (Arizona Diamondbacks Rookie affiliate)

2016 stats (2 teams): 0-0, 7.43 ERA, 7 K, 7 BB, 21 H, 13.1 IP

Skinny: Galligan threw one clean inning for the Missoula Ospreys in the Pioneer League before the Diamondbacks reassigned him to their Arizona League team. He debuted for them Saturday but did not perform well, retiring just one batter and giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits.
