Get your lime on

College Park’s newest Route 1 restaurant, Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, is definitely a hit. Everyone I know who went there loved the food, so I had to check it out. From what I assumed, it was just another Mexican place that would be like Chipotle. However, there are plenty of differences worth exploring.

Lime is much more of a menu style restaurant. You still have the option of making your own burrito or taco, but they have a menu of different items you can order. They have some soup, salad and guacamole options along with the taco, quesadilla, burrito, and fajita options.

When it comes to finding food with allergies there, not all of the food is marked. Good news for those with gluten allergies: They have three different tortilla choices. They have a soft flour tortilla, which should obviously be avoided, but they also have a soft corn tortilla and a hard shell corn tortilla.

The fact that they have a soft corn tortilla widens your options tremendously. Most of the burritos and fajitas are listed with a soft flour tortilla. However, you can easily request a different tortilla.

Of course, if you are playing it safe they also have the “Nudie Burrito,” which is the equivalent of a Chipotle Burrito Bowl. You can fill it with what you want and they put chips in the bowl with it, which is a delicious touch.

Lime also has a great selection of sauces that you can take as much as you want after you order. They are labeled with how spicy each one is so you don’t have to worry about an unpleasant surprise after you take a bite. They also sell their sauces if you fall in love with any of them.

Vegetarians, don’t worry: They have a special section on their menu for the vegetarians and anything on the menu can be made special without meat. You have the option of adding beans, guacamole, or anything else you would want to add to replace whatever meat the dish comes with.

Something very exciting for those who are of age is their drinks menu. They have beer on ice when you walk in, but they also have Lime Margaritas and Frozen Sangria for you to enjoy with your meal. If that doesn’t sound like a great thing to have with your food, I don’t know what does.

The food is great and the options on the menu are sure to make your mouth water. College Park will definitely give Lime Fresh Mexican Grill a warm welcome with even more tasty varieties for students to eat.
