These kids sum up the election better than your average newscaster can. And they’ll make you smile, too.
NAILIN’ PAYLIN WITH RICKY GERVAIS
It’s old news now that Larry Flynt was working on producing a Sarah Palin-inspired porno, but British talk show host Graham Norton got a hold of the script (it’s all over the Internet) and had guests Thandi Newton and Ricky Gervais act out a scene. Newton’s Palin impression is weak, but hearing Gervais read porn is enough to justify watching the clip. Those cheeky Brits – way to attack the core of America.
STEPHEN MALKMUS AND THE JICKS’ “GARDENIA”
In March, we raved about Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks’ Real Emotional Trash. Last week, the band released the video for the spacey pop number “Gardenia.” It’s a lo-fi affair that alternates between sweet psychedelic animations and cameo sing-a-longs, and doesn’t actually feature Malkmus at all – instead, it has cameos from Girl Talk’s Greg Gillis, Weezer’s Brian Bell and more.
