No Maryland football players were drafted in this year’s NFL Draft, but we’re tracking where they land for training camp. Former defensive back Will Likely and offensive lineman Michael Dunn had perhaps the best chance of getting drafted, but about eight to 10 former Terps could ink rookie free agent contracts in the coming days.
Alvin Hill (DB) – Cleveland Browns: Officially signed 5/4
The 6-foot, 200-pound defensive back recorded 106 tackles, three interceptions and 11 passes defended in his Maryland career. He tallied a career-high 51 tackles last season and led the team with two interceptions. He’s also into ballet.
Levern Jacobs (WR) – Washington Redskins: Officially signed 5/4
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound receiver finished seventh in program history in receptions (130) and 12th in receiving yards (1,554). Last season, Jacobs recorded 419 of his 439 receiving yards in the final eight games while catching two touchdowns. The Temple Hills native led the Terps in receiving yards and receptions in 2015 and 2013, but he was suspended his junior year due to an off-field incident.
Teldrick Morgan (WR) – San Francisco 49ers: Invited to rookie minicamp on tryout basis, according to The Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson
While leading the Terps in receptions last season (43), the 6-foot, 190-pound receiver also recorded the second-most receiving yards (497) and receiving touchdowns (four). The Hanover native also averaged 10.7 yards per punt return, including one touchdown. Before transferring to Maryland for his senior year, Morgan played at New Mexico State, where he made Second Team All-Sun Belt Conference as a redshirt sophomore.
Trey Edmunds (RB) – Kansas City Chiefs: Signed, according to The Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson
The 6-foot-2, 223-pound halfback ran for 158 yards in five games last season before fracturing his foot. Before transferring to Maryland for his senior season, Edmunds rushed for 957 yards in three years at Virginia Tech. The Danville, Virginia, native ran for 675 yards his freshman year before assuming a smaller role due to an injury.
