Despite its road loss to Wisconsin on Friday night, Maryland men’s basketball remained in this week’s AP Top-25 rankings, checking in at No. 24.
The Terps went 1-1 last week, with a 70-52 win over Northwestern at Xfinity Center on Tuesday before the 69-61 loss in Madison.
This is Maryland’s fourth consecutive week in the rankings, although the team drops three spots from No. 21. The Terps peaked at No. 13 two weeks ago after entering the rankings at No. 19 on Jan. 14.

Maryland plays only one game this week, a road tilt with Nebraska on Wednesday. Mark Turgeon’s team has lost three of its last four games.
Around the Big Ten, the Terps are one of six teams in this week’s top 25. Iowa re-entered the rankings at No. 20 after knocking off Michigan, and Wisconsin moved up to No. 19 after its big win over Maryland. Purdue — Maryland’s next home opponent on Feb. 12 — moves up two spots to No. 15, while Michigan and Michigan State fell to No. 7 and No. 9, respectively.
Turgeon’s team, which is now 17-6 overall and 8-4 in the Big Ten, has four remaining games against ranked opponents, including three out of its next four. The Terps are 2-3 against ranked teams this season.
