The Terrapin wrestling team introduced former Stanford coach Kerry McCoy as its replacement for former head coach Pat Santoro yesterday.
After turning the Terps into an ACC power, Santoro left the Terps on April 16 for Lehigh.
In three years at Stanford, McCoy brought the program from a losing record to a 19th-place finish in the NCAA Championships, the second-best finish in program history.
The Terps too are coming off a record season, with their highest winning percentage ever and their first ACC Championship in 35 years.
“With a team as talented and dedicated as Maryland, the sky is the limit,” sophomore captain Hudson Taylor said. “I am personally excited to win a national championship under the guidance of our new head coach.”
