Every week, staff writer Kyle Stackpole will take a look at the careers of a number of former Terrapins athletes embarking on professional careers in a variety of leagues. Every Thursday, it’s former women’s basketball players. The stats are from games through July 29.

Marissa Coleman, Guard/Forward, Indiana Fever

2014 stats: 24.7 mpg, 9.3 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.1 apg, .395 FG%, .402 FT%

Skinny: In her past two games, Coleman’s scoring output dropped below her season average. When the Fever played the Washington Mystics on Friday, Coleman finished with two points, her lowest scoring output since June 22. Two days later, the Fever earned a 14-point win against the New York Liberty, and Coleman scored five points on 2-of-7 shooting.

Lynetta Kizer, Forward, Indiana Fever

2014 stats: 8.5 mpg, 3.8 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 0.1 apg, .448 FG%, .667 FT%

Skinny: Kizer was mostly ineffective in her past two games. She combined to score eight points in 15 minutes over that span.

Crystal Langhorne, Forward/Center, Seattle Storm

2014 stats: 29.5 mpg, 12.8 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 1.0 apg, .567 FG%, .651 FT%

Skinny: Langhorne not only continued to produce on the offensive end during the Storm’s three-game winning streak, but she also made an impact with her rebounding. Against the San Antonio Stars on Aug. 3, Langhorne scored 19 points and snagged 10 boards to earn her third double-double of the season. Her aggressiveness on the glass continued against the Atlanta Dream on Thursday, when she had six rebounds, and Sunday against the Tulsa Shock, when she grabbed seven boards.

Kristi Toliver, Guard, Los Angeles Sparks

2014 stats: 29.1 mpg, 11.8 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 4.0 apg, .441 FG%, .886 FT%

Skinny: The Sparks came away with an eight-point win against the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday to earn a playoff spot, and Toliver made a significant contribution. She scored a season-high 29 points, 20 of which came in the second half, as the Sparks rallied to outscore the Lynx 22-12 in the fourth quarter and secure the victory.

Alyssa Thomas, Forward, Connecticut Sun

2014 stats: 27.1 mpg, 9.8 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 1.4 apg, .424 FG%, .757 FT%

Skinny: As her rookie season has progresses, Thomas has played more minutes. In an 89-81 win over the Washington Mystics on Sunday, Thomas played a career-high 39 minutes. Though the Sun will likely not play in the postseason — they sit in last place in the Eastern Conference — Thomas has gained valuable experience in her inaugural WNBA season.

Tianna Hawkins, Forward, Washington Mystics

2014 stats: 10.5 mpg, 4.0 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 0.5 apg, .481 FG%, .741 FT%

Skinny: Hawkins did not score in the Sun’s past two games.
