I don’t know about everyone else, but I have now reached a point in the summer where my shopping habits have gotten a little out of control. Spending the summer in New York City — which is basically the Disney World of stores — doesn’t exactly help. So naturally I want to be able to get an expensive look for a lot less money, hence this blog post. And maybe you’re also looking for that same look for less — because who doesn’t want to look great without breaking the bank.
1. This Simply Awesome Dress
When you look through dresses on the Bloomingdale’s website, your mouth might start to drop open because you can’t believe how expensive it is. I mean, this dress from Diane von Furstenberg is as simple as it gets. But why do we want it so badly? Well, that’s because this kind of look never gets old. The cut is classic, and, luckily for everyone, it comes for less than half the price at Forever 21. The color is perfect for the summer, and you can wear the dress during the day at work or at night to go out with friends.
2. Pants With Style
My go-to look this summer has been patterned pants that look amazing. Where could I go wrong, right? Well, I guess I went wrong because I didn’t look for the best price. These pants from Anthropologie are light and airy but are also a little on the pricy side when they don’t need to be. These similar pants from H&M are only $18. They’re also very trendy; they’re skinny in the ankle and have an elastic waistband — which also makes them very comfortable.
3. Midi Skirts
At first, the midi skirt trend seemed a little too out there for me. But upon closer inspection, I realized that it could be really great. The look is classy and polished; the skirt dresses up any look and makes it a little more fashionable. When I was looking online, I realized the great thing about midi skirts is that they are everywhere. I first saw this one on Nasty Gal, which I thought was a discounted website — until I saw a skirt that looked exactly like it on boohoo.com. The cheaper skirt is half the price and comes in the same color. Keep in mind when you are looking for midi skirts that they are all over, and you shouldn’t have to break the bank for the trend.
