Maryland Madness is back this year with a twist.
Along with a glimpse of the most hyped Maryland men’s basketball team in years, the 2015 edition of the event has a new theme: magic.
Professional magician JP Wilson has performed for many NBA teams, including the Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls. At Xfinity Center on Oct. 17 he’ll add the Maryland Terrapins as a client.
Wilson “has twice been awarded the International Brotherhood of Magicians ‘Award of Merit,'” according to his website.
It appears former Terps player Richaud Pack was unsuccessful in his attempts to get a higher-profile act to perform at Maryland Madness.
About to give @BigSean and @DeJLoaf a call and ask them to be at Midnight Madness for Maryland! 👀🐢🏀

Doors open at 4 p.m. followed by an autograph session at 4:30. The women’s team will be introduced first, at 6:10, with the men’s team coming in at 6:30.
As always, the event will feature intrasquad scrimmages for both teams.
Maryland Madness will be the first time this year the public sees prized freshman Diamond Stone and Duke transfer Rasheed Sulaimon show off their skills in red and gold.
Gymkana will also perform, and Maryland athletics has promised “many more magical surprises” for the night.
