WVU’s Shelton Gibson trucks Maryland cheerleader

Maryland football players weren’t the only ones getting run over by West Virginia in Morgantown on Saturday. Unfortunately, Terrapin cheerleaders were, too.

Early in the second quarter, Mountaineers quarterback Skyler Howard tossed a 41-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Shelton Gibson to put his team up, 28-0. But the more notable thing occurred after the play, as Gibson ran over a Maryland cheerleader who had her back turned to the field:

Gibson didn’t seem to show much remorse for his actions, however, as he continued to jog towards the stands after the collision. The game announcers briefly mentioned the incident, but no other updates were provided.

It was just another brutal play on what would prove to be a brutal day for Randy Edsall’s squad.
