For a college student, this is the kind of movie dreams are made of. The Social Network tells the story of Mark Zuckerberg and his glorious invention: Facebook. As you may know, Zuckerberg first had the inception for the social networking site while he was a student at Harvard.

Now Facebook, of course, has become one of the most popular and most visited social networking sites, with more than one billion users from across the world. Zuckerberg’s net worth is more than $16 billion and Time magazine even named him one of the 100 wealthiest and most influential people in the world in 2011.

Watching this film, you’ll realize that Zuckerberg’s character is by no means a normal college student. Smart is an understatement. His endeavors, however, do inspire some form of motivation within students to invent or do something unheard of.

Maybe someone at this university will create the next social networking phenomenon, or make a scientific discovery, or even, as university President Wallace Loh stated at the New Student Welcome on Aug. 30 , become the university’s next president.

So if you have yet to watch The Social Network, gather a few of your dormmates together for a movie night and, hopefully, start thinking about the next phenomenon you will create. Despite what you think, it could actually happen.
