Maryland women’s lacrosse’s Lizzie Colson was named the Big Ten Defender of the Week on Tuesday for the fourth time this season.
Colson helped lead the Terps to two victories over the past week against Georgetown and Michigan. The team held Georgetown to just five goals and Michigan to nine.
The sophomore tallied three caused turnovers, four draw controls and two ground balls in the 17-5 rout over Georgetown.
In the 16-9 win over Michigan, Colson notched seven draw controls, two caused turnovers and two ground balls.
No. 3 Maryland (10-1, 2-0 Big Ten) will continue to look to Colson to lead its defense this week in matchups against No. 10 Virginia (8-3, 3-2 ACC) and Rutgers (5-7, 0-2 Big Ten).
