The new center will coordinate with units across campus to foster new opportunities for community-engaged scholarship, instruction and service.
Students and instructors will be required to wear KN95 masks for the few in person classes.
The new building will include 34 research labs, two core research facilities and 13,000 square feet of collaboration space.
Jennifer Rice, the new provost, will begin her job more than a month early on July 1.
Rice will become provost Aug. 11.
