Some locals and College Park City Council members said they are frustrated at the company for its lack of community engagement in the development process.
The vote came after a public hearing where residents expressed their views on the city's intention to purchase the Calvert Road property, with some raising concerns over city spending.
“Being a part of Good Neighbor Day helps beautify the county in the city of College Park," said Elizabeth Hewlett, chair of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission and the Prince George’s County Planning Board.
