Two grease fires broke out in the Chick-fil-A and Qdoba restaurants in Stamp Student Union Wednesday afternoon, according to this university.
The building, including both kitchens, was evacuated after both grease fires, this university said.
At 12:30 p.m., a grease fire triggered the fire alarm at Chick-fil-A, according to this university. According to this university, the kitchen’s Ansul suppression system — a special kitchen fire protection system that uses extinguishing liquid to suppress fires — was also deployed.
During the evacuation, a second grease fire occurred in Qdoba, which also triggered the Ansul suppression system, according to this university.
Both Chick-fil-A and Qdoba have resumed operations and the building has been cleared, this university said.
This university’s fire marshal’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
