The University of Maryland will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday due to forecasted inclement weather, according to a university alert Wednesday evening.
College Park is under a Winter Weather Advisory from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 10 a.m. Thursday, according to The Weather Channel. Mixed precipitation is expected, including up to one inch of snow and sleet and one-tenth of an inch of ice.
Students are expected to attend class during any period the university is officially open, beginning at 10 a.m., according to this university’s inclement weather website. For example, if a student has a class from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., they will report to the class at 10 a.m., the inclement weather website read.
Faculty and instructors are expected to communicate with students regarding the possibility of virtual classes, according to the website.
The South Campus and Yahentamitsi dining halls will open at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Dining Services website. 251 North Dining Hall will open at 9 a.m., the website said.
