A pop-up testing site for the COVID-19 virus will be available this Friday in College Park, behind The Hotel at The University of Maryland.

The Prince George’s County Health Department will offer free tests for the coronavirus to individuals with or without symptoms from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m at this site. No appointment, doctor’s note or insurance is necessary.

Although this pop-up site will only be available Friday, there are four other testing sites  operated or supplied by the county health department that offer free testing at other times.

County testing is free regardless of a patient’s insurance status, but patients must present an insurance card if they have one. Those who wish to get tested must also show identification, but there will be no questions about immigration status at the sites. Testing is only available to individuals who are at least 10 years old.

Testing sites accommodate both drive-in and walk-up testing.

Anybody who has received a test and wants another one from the county health department must have a known or suspected exposure to a positive case of the COVID-19 virus, have symptoms or be part of a county contact tracing case.
