The University of Maryland SGA announced Monday that four parties — Empower Maryland, Chicken Broth For Your Soul, YOU Ticket and Unite UMD — will be running in the spring 2019 election, to serve during the 2019-20 school year.
Empower Maryland’s ticket now has 38 executive and legislative candidates, and YOU Ticket lists 24 candidates and 16 students are running for Unite UMD. In addition to presidential candidates from those parties, Barath Srinivasan is running for president on the Chicken Broth For Your Soul ticket, and Jonathan Saewitz is running for president as an independent.
Below is a full list of the candidates on each ticket and the positions they are running for. Candidates can start campaigning on Wednesday in anticipation of the election, which will be held from April 10 to April 12.
