The SGA announced two parties and candidates running for the 2017-18 academic year Wednesday afternoon. The two parties will be the One Party and the Unity Party.

The One Party’s ticket lists executive candidates who are all Student Government Association members, while none of the Unity Party’s executive candidates are currently affiliated with the organization.

Here is a breakdown of the executive and legislative candidates for both parties, along with unaffiliated candidates. All will begin campaigning on April 12 in preparation for the April 19 to April 21 SGA election.

One Party

Executive Candidates:

Student Body President: A.J. Pruitt. Pruitt is a junior government and politics major who is serving as SGA student affairs vice president.

Academic Affairs Vice President: Christine Hagan. Hagan is a junior environmental science and policy major and SGA sustainability director.

Financial Affairs Vice President: Alia Abdelkader. Abdelkader is a junior information systems and operations management and business analytics major and is on the SGA’s finance committee.

Student Affairs Vice President: Chris Ricigliano. Ricigliano is a junior government and politics and history major who is serving as SGA legislative speaker.
