University of Maryland Police have arrested a Washington, D.C. resident in an unlawful touching incident that took place Sunday evening near Stamp Student Union.

Patrick Craig Locke, 26, is charged with a fourth-degree sex offense, second-degree assault and school trespassing. He is unaffiliated with the university.

At about 5 p.m. Sunday, a female student was walking down Fieldhouse Drive toward Stamp when a man approached her, grabbed her hand and put it on his groin, according to a police press release.

The student pulled her hand away and fled the scene, the release read.

No UMD Alert was sent for this incident. The university typically won’t issue alerts for localized incidents, such as an “isolated criminal offense,” according to the department’s website.
