Maryland football added a fourth defensive back to its 2017 recruiting class Sunday afternoon when junior college three-star Alex Woods announced his commitment via Twitter.

“After talking it over with my family,I have decided to end my recruiting,” Woods wrote in a Twitter attachment. “I have decided to commit to the University of Maryland . #Goterps”

Woods, who played last season at Lackawanna Community College in Pennsylvania, pledged to West Virginia in June but decommitted last month. He also received offers from five other schools, including N.C. State.

He’s the No. 12 junior college corner in the nation, according to 247sports, adding to Maryland’s incoming class that ranks third in the Big Ten and 17th in the country. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Durham, North Carolina, native joins defensive back commits Deon Jones, Fofie Bazzie and Kenny Bennett.

Woods takes one of the final spots in the Terps’ 2017 group ahead of National Signing Day on Feb. 1. Before then, coach DJ Durkin plans to balance recruiting trips with his team’s bowl practices for its postseason appearance in the Quick Lane Bowl against Boston College in Detroit on Dec. 26.
