Running back Wes Brown carries the ball during the Terps’ 37-15 loss to Michigan State at Byrd Stadium on Nov. 15, 2014.

The Terrapins football team will wear its Black Ops uniforms and debut black hand-painted helmets against Michigan on Saturday.

The Terps have sported hand-painted Maryland Pride 2.0 helmets in each of their first four games this season, but this will be the first time they will wear a black version.

The Terps football Twitter account posted a sneak peek of the outfit Tuesday afternoon.

In the past, the Terps haven’t fared well in their Black Ops uniforms. Coach Randy Edsall’s squad has worn them three times since it debuted them in 2012 against Florida State and has gone 0-3 in those contests, according to the Carroll County Times.

Most recently, the Terps fell to Michigan State, 37-15, in the all-black uniforms in 2014. Saturday, fans will find out if the Terps can reverse their fortunes wearing the new helmets.
